It does mine, for the ocean, the great outdoors, the cultural strongholds celebrating dance, music, art, and the amazing and inspiring cultural and ethnic diversity that surrounds us.
I have lived, worked and played along the entire Northern California Coast in Mendocino, Marin, Alameda and Santa Cruz counties and am deeply familiar with these communities. Raised by a single mom in poverty in a rented house, I know the feeling of being house insecure. As I grew up, I vowed to buy a house for my family, and at age 37, after a life of saving from my non-profit public health job, I was able to make that dream a reality. Buying a home in Alameda as a single woman, I have now seen the equity, and my personal financial security grow exponentially. Building my wealth so much more quickly and easily than through my salary alone. Besides financial security, I have also enjoyed the health benefits of reduced stress, community connection, serenity and safety.
Owning my first house gave me the confidence I needed, and I have now owned three investment properties in beautiful Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, and Coastal Mendocino.
